Hey, Y'all (still not southern XD) We have reached September, actually, we reached September a few weeks ago but it's been a really busy month.

And the only thing I can say to recap is... God is good.

Now while I'm not certain what my style is, a few have told me it's a very Autum style, which seems right.

So I'm going with it for right now.

My main inspiration for this post was Ava Coulter's recent post, where she gave tips on how to get into that Autumn vibe, of course, she went above and beyond and gave thirty tips!!! Definitely go and check that out especially because I'm only giving four and they're not even all related to fall.

*sighs* I know I'm not as good, but you're going to have to settle for me... jkjkjk

So here are some tips to change your writing routine and style and to add some fun to it.

Tip #1 - Monthly prompts!!!!!

These are amazing for art and writing to inspire you with scenes and short stories.

Basically, every day is a different prompt that you can use to either draw or write a story. You can come up with completely new characters and everything and write a short story, or write a scene that might not ever happen with your already existing characters, either way, it's a ton of fun.

And a great way to find inspiration.

they're usually themed on the months so in the link are a few I saved for September and October, which lean more Fall and Halloween.

Tip #2 - Have some fun with Holloween!!

Is this my favorite holiday? no, does this holiday come from a questionable background? yes.

Holloween might not be for everyone, and I can understand why some might have issues with it, but I find it hard to hate a holiday where I get to dress up in awesome costumes and get free candy.

It's also such a fun time for decorations, and while my family isn't big on decorating the yard (I know we're so boring) I can still decorate my room, desk, or any other space of mine. And so can you! Pumpkins, candy corn, or whatever you can think of.

Also, add Halloween to your writing and drawings. What costumes would your character wear? What's a little scene you could write of them featuring the holiday or something fall or spooky? What's an illustration you can do of them?

Which brings me to my next tip!

Tip #3 - Art!

I've already mentioned art a lot but here it is again. Truthfully writing and art go hand and hand, and if you're capable of both, great, but if you aren't here's a little encouragement.

I'm not saying you have to be a pro at art in order to be a writer, truthfully you don't need to draw at all, but there is some value in knowing how to draw at least a little.

Drawing your characters and scenes, or special items found in the book can be so much fun, and really inspiring, and I suggest looking on Pinterest for cute references and just adventuring to find your style.

Also, I'm pretty bad at art but I've been trying recently to get better. (:

Tip #4 - Dress your style

*sighs* I can't wear pajamas when I'm not in bed. It just ruins my vibe, and makes me feel unproductive (not saying that to offend anyone or anything, it's just something personal to me)

I find that when I'm wearing clothes I love and feel good in, my mind is in a better place to write.

(And I mean that in all seriousness)

I also recommend finding your style, mine is either athletic clothing or autumn clothing, either way XD. cozy scarves and black leggings are perfect for me.

Thanks for reading, and have a happy Fall!!

Great post! I love Fall. <3 Halloween isn't my thing, but I still think it's fun to get together with friends and dress up. And I'm totally with you on clothes; I can't get anything done until I'm completely ready for the day. XD I love wearing oversized flannels in the fall; I also cannot go without wearing jeans (I'm a sucker for jeans, I swear I have over fifteen pairs lol)
