Writing is such a fun process, and you just get to go with the flow, and not stress over it.
At least that's what it's supposed to be... but somewhere in it all I think we lose sight of that, and make the goal so much more important than the journey.
It's going to be hard, don't get me wrong, but when you make it into a chore, there's no wonder why you're having writer's block.
So today I want to give a few tips for making writing fun, and aesthetic.
Tip #1 - give yourself a space
A good workplace is key in all things, but especially in writing. I know that depending on your situation you can't always have a perfect desk, like you see on Pinterest. But you can find a way to make where you're working a little bit more fun.
I love fake plants for my desk, and also just anything that makes the environment more cozy.
Tip #2 - Pinterest!!
Guys Pinterest is the best, and so inspiring to my books. Plus Pinterest is a great way to give people a little look at your books.
it can be so inspiring and so much fun, and honestly, you can get addicted to it.
Psalm 34:8 ~ Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
Tip #3 - Listen to music
As a writer, I don't think I can listen to music, without figuring out what one of my characters would fit this song the best.
So when I'm writing or need inspiration, I listen to music that matches the character.
Personally, I find movie songs are some of the best since the lyrics are usually telling a specific story, and I'm able to draw inspiration from certain lyrics.
Tip #4 - Change it up
I know I gave a tip about making a place to write... but if you only work at a specific place, then chances are you won't get very far. I don't always write at a desk, and currently, I'm writing this on my couch.
Life is busy and chaotic, and if you wait for it to settle down into a routine, then you're not going to get too far.
Write in your living room, write in your bed, write in the park, write in the library, write in the car.
if you're committed to writing then you can find a way to write anywhere.
Tip #5 - Pray
No one gives inspiration like God, and it's so important to remember that. When you're feeling low, or bored, pray. Ask God for inspiration, and encouragement.
Trust in him, and he'll guide you on this writing journey, that you've embarked on.
